Facebook Scans Posts for Criminal Activity

Facebook is scanning posts to look for and report sexual predators - according to a Reuters interview with Facebook's Chief Security Officer and an analysis by CNET. From the article:
Facebook's software focuses on conversations between members who have a loose relationship on the social network. For example, if two users aren't friends, only recently became friends, have no mutual friends, interact with each other very little, have a significant age difference, and/or are located far from each other, the tool pays particular attention.
The interesting thing here is that Facebook doesn't make this clear to subscribers. The world's largest information communication provider proactively engages in surveillance and law enforcement activities, we have the definition of a slippery slope.
