Video of Fatal Beating Posted to Facebook

Three teenagers in Chicago attacked a 62 year-old man collecting cans, filmed the attack and posted it to their Facebook account, according to CNN. The teens were playing a game called "Pick 'em out and knock 'em out" in which they choose an unsuspecting victim and punch them in the face.

Malik Jones, the 16 year old who punched 62 year old Delfino Mora, told his accomplices, Nicholas Ayala, 17, and Anthony Malcolm, 18, to record him punching Mora. The three surrounded Mora and asked him if he had any money. When Mora did not respond, Jones punched him in the jaw, knocking him to the ground and causing him to hit his head on the concrete, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Mora was still breathing when he was found three hours later, but died in the hospital from blunt force trauma.

The three were later apprehended when Jones posted the video to his Facebook page. He still had the phone in his possession , with the video on it.

Degrees of murder indicate the seriousness of the crime. For someone to be charged with first degree murder means that the killing was willful and premeditated. The assailant must have intended to do something that could reasonably result in death and must have thought about it beforehand.
Even if 'premeditation' only lasts a few seconds that is enough for a first-degree murder charge. The law is intended to punish people who think about their actions and then go on to commit terrible acts of violence.
