14 Year Old Blogger and Peace Prize Winner Shot by Taliban

14 Year old Malala Yousafzai, Pakistani blogger and National Peace Prize winner, has barely survived an assassination attempt by the Taliban. She was in a van on her way to school when Taliban soldiers boarded the van, identified her and opened fire. She is in critical condition with a bullet lodged in her neck. The Taliban say she was targeted for advocating for Western thought and women's rights, including access to education.

Hopefully those of us in the U.S., or other countries with the rule of law, free speech, access to education, freedom of association, and protection against unreasonable search and seizure, will be reminded of how important these rights are, and the courage it takes to fight for them.
