I started this blog as a way to keep track of the latest changes in technology and public policy. Initially I was interested in government secrecy, transparency, and the preservation of digital records, but my interests have expanded to include social media. I am also fascinated by drones - seems like the one new technology that has incredible long-term consequences.

These days I use the blog primarily to keep up with news and relevant issues for the classes I teach - The Internet and Public Policy and Privacy and Social Networking. I'm constantly looking for ways to make sense out of the constant changes in privacy, surveillance, and the human implications of new technology.
